The Edengrace Barisow Scholarship is for an individual pursuing a career in the field of ultrasound. This scholarship is made available annually by the Red Deer Regional Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Department, Edengrace’s family & friends, and through the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation’s scholarship program. This scholarship will be awarded to individuals pursuing a career in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
By establishing this scholarship, Edengrace’s friends and family wish to create a lasting legacy for Edengrace who was a very special person and touched so many with her beautiful spirit. Edengrace began her career as a rehabilitation practitioner and with perseverance and hard work she became a successful & proficient sonographer.
This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who has his/her permanent address within 100 kilometers of Red Deer. The scholarship may be withheld if a suitable candidate is not identified in any given year. The successful applicant must be enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at either SAIT or NAIT.
The scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee, to an individual who is pursuing a career in sonography. Recipients must meet the following criteria:
Must be enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at either SAIT or NAIT.
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Must have already successfully completed at least 50% of this program.
Must provide transcripts & confirmation of enrollment from the registrar.
Must have demonstrated an outstanding aptitude and professional ability.
The successful candidates must provide his/her social insurance number.
