Investing in Essential OR Equipment with The Ronald Faye Family

The Ronald Faye family visited Red Deer Regional Hospital to witness the powerful impact of their uncle’s extraordinary gift - a $250,000 donation that continues to shape patient care across central Alberta.

With thoughtful input from the family, the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation invested in essential Operating Room equipment, including a perioperative training mannequin, five lymphatic mapping probes, a flexible cysto-nephro videoscope, and a gastroscope. These tools are already in active use, helping surgical teams deliver faster, safer, and more effective care.

In addition to medical equipment, part of Ron’s gift created an education fund for the OR team, ensuring staff have access to ongoing training and support well into the future. A further $100,000 was directed to the Innisfail Hospital, extending Ron’s impact even further and helping us further reinforce our support for medical care centers outside of Red Deer.

During their visit, the Faye family toured the Operating Room, seeing firsthand how Ron’s legacy lives on in every procedure and every life touched. To honour his memory, a commemorative plaque was installed in the OR, along with a memorial leaf in his name.

We are deeply grateful for this legacy of generosity, care, and community.
