Community Funds Blood Gas Analyzers

This spring, the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation launched a direct mail campaign to help fund a vital piece of diagnostic equipment for Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre: a new Blood Gas Analyzer.

While many people may not be familiar with this technology, Blood Gas Analyzers play a critical role in patient care every day. These specialized machines provide rapid results that help healthcare teams assess oxygen levels, blood chemistry, and lung function in patients. The information they provide can be essential for emergency medicine, intensive care, respiratory treatment, surgery, and neonatal care.

Clinicians rely on fast and accurate results to make informed decisions. Blood Gas Analyzers deliver real-time information that helps guide treatment and improve outcomes. Through our direct mail campaign, we invited our community to invest in this important technology and support the healthcare professionals who use it every day. The response was inspiring. Donors from across Central Alberta recognized the importance of this equipment and successfully funded not one, but two new Blood Gas Analyzers to replace ones that are requiring increasing repairs within the Respiratory Department.
