Dr. Ratzlaff & Dr. Molberg Scholarship
for Pediatrics & Neonatology

The Dr. Victor Ratzlaff & Dr. Carey Molberg Scholarship for Pediatrics & Neonatology is made available annually by Drs. Ratzlaff & Molberg through the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation to individuals pursuing a career in the field of pediatrics or neonatology, or to those who are currently employed in the Red Deer area and who are pursuing advanced education in these fields.

 

By establishing this scholarship, Dr. Victor Ratzlaff and Dr. Carey Molberg wish to provide a tangible demonstration of their gratitude for longstanding and fulfilling careers in pediatrics and neonatology at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. A scholarship of up to $3,000 may be awarded to an applicant who resides or has his/her permanent address within 100 kilometres of Red Deer. The scholarship may be withheld if a suitable candidate is not identified in any given year. Scholarships may cover the following levels of education:

 

  • Credit course from a certified educational institution (college, university, or technical institution) 

  • Clinical certification program

  • An accredited program in a health-related occupation

  • Approved clinical pediatric or neonatal focused conferences

 

Eligibility:

The scholarship, bursary, or award may be granted, at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee, to an individual who is pursuing a career in pediatrics or neonatology, in addition to Red Deer area employees who are entered into a program coursework in pediatrics or neonatology.  Recipients must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Must provide transcripts & confirmation of enrollment from the registrar.

  • Must have a permanent address within a 100km radius of Red Deer.

  • Must be eligible and willing to work within a 100 km radius of Red Deer.

  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to pediatrics or neonatology and be enrolled in a program to build skills that will be applied in either field.

  • Must have demonstrated an aptitude for excellence, professional ability, initiative, and/or leadership.

  • Must meet any additional factors established by the Selection Committee that are consistent with the aims and purpose of the scholarship.

  • The successful candidates must provide his/her social insurance number.

 

Process:

Applications are accepted until March 1st, 2024. 

 

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
